Regarding CORONAVIRUS – (COVID-19)
An update from Nutters Restaurant and The Bird at Birtle.
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I write this message, and I’m not really sure words can put into context how we are feeling at the moment.
After the announcement from government on Friday 20th March, Nutters Restaurant and The Bird at Birtle have closed with immediate effect.
This isn’t just us, our friends and colleagues from across the industry find themselves this morning stripping bars and kitchens as well as securing and locking down sites.
It is just an unbelievable and heart breaking situation we find ourselves in with no sign of the end goal.
Nutters Restaurant for 27 years along with The bird at Birtle over the last few years have always run as an independent family business.
From the late legend Rodney Nutter to Jean and Andrew the teams have always been one close knit family.
This morning we group together as that family and try to find strength as one.
All the team from both Nutters and The Bird want to put on record our thanks and appreciation for all support, not just over the last few weeks as we tried to find different ideas and different directions to keep trading but for your continued support over the years.
To the staff I say thank you!
This has been an unbelievably testing time and every single one of you took up the challenge to keep us going.
Jean Nutter and Andrew Nutter thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
Things may change forever for us now, I just don’t know.
One thing is for sure! WE WILL BE BACK, Stronger, better and up for the fight!
To everyone in the industry! Stay strong and pull together!
Look after yourselves and your families. Stay safe, and we will see you all on the other side.
Just on a side note to everyone that has paid future deposits – I want to ensure you these are safe. Over the coming days I will find a way to inform how to put on hold or redeem these.
